Pierre Jacquelin

Born in 1944, Pierre Jacquelin is a French artist who works with pastels and oils. His pastels are exceptionally detailed giving the viewer a vivid sense of the textures in each piece.

 

As a student, he studied at the Ecole Boulle in Paris, specializing in engraving and etching. Jacquelin held a variety of jobs before becoming a pastel artist and painter. In 1967 he became a jewelry designer at the Atelier Langlois, Paris for Van Cleef & Arpels. In the early 1980’s he worked as a fine art etcher and engraver, and began working in pastel and oil, the mediums in which he currently works.

 

He has had many exhibitions in Europe and the United States.
