Cincinnati A Panorama from Covington’s Riverfront in 1876

This view shows the Landing customarily crowded with river boats of all types and sizes, with the Covington ferry still in busy use. Roebling’s fine bridge got off to a sluggish start, apparently bedeviled by a shortage of funds. Then came the interruption of the Civil War before completion was finally rushed in order for the opening to take place in 1867.
