Greenwich: A View of the Lower Landing, Cos Cob at Sunrise in 1895

Clear

Description

With the generous help of the Greenwich Historical Society John Stobart was able to come across a couple of old prints that fired his enthusiasm. The crux of these was the characterful shape of the old grist mill which had a doorway at the river end of its roof. This structure and the adjacent buildings formed an ideal focus for a new painting.
