New York ‘Henry B. Hyde’ Leaving the East River in 1886

Description

This composition is principally one of mood: a fairly sultry sky, little wind, the subject vessel having been towed out to midstream on the change of tide. She would have had her sails loosely bunted, ready to be sheeted home as the tugs cast off beyond the Narrows.
